Final Stats

CLARION, Pa. - Clarion's Women's Tennis team fell to Mercyhurst College on Wednesday with a final score of 8-1.

Clarion's only point came on a win from Haylee Gardner (So. McMurray) at #2 singles, defeating Mercyhurst's Meghan Raynor in a tiebreaker match with a final score of 6-3, 4-6, 10-8.

In other singles play #1 Jaclyn Metzger (So. Perrysburg, O.H.) fell to Mercyhurst's Kim Ezzo with a score of 6-2, 6-0. At #3 Megan Parsons (Jr. Acme) fell to Rebecca Haener with a score of 6-3, 6-3 while Mercyhurst's Jenna Raynor defeated Devin Rombach (Jr. Prattsburgh, N.Y.) at #4 with a score of 3-6, 8-4, 10-1. Natalie Iovino defeated Michaela Hardy (Fr. Greenland, N.H.) 6-1, 6-2 at #5 singles, while at #6 Courtney Conway defeated Lauren Eonta (Jr. Pittsburgh) 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles action, the #1 team of Ezzo and M. Raynor defeated Metzger and Rombach with a score of 8-1. Haener and J. Raynor def. Parsons and Gardner with a score of 8-4 at #2, and Maria Iovino and Conway defeated Hardy and Alysia Sturdivant at #3 with a score of 8-2.

Clarion returns to action on April 2, when the Golden Eagles take on IUP at home.
