MORGAN HITS SIXTH HR BUT CLARION FALLS TO LOCK HAVEN

CLARION - Lock Haven used a three-run first and a three-run fourth to get a rain-shortened 8-2, six-inning win over homestanding Clarion in PSAC-West baseball action Friday afternoon.

The second game of the doubleheader was rained out. The teams are scheduled to play a tripleheader at Lock Haven Saturday. First game is set for noon.

After Lock Haven grabbed the 3-0 lead in the first, Clarion answered with a solo homerun by Ken Morgan in the second, Morgan's sixth blast of the year, which is tied for the second most at Clarion since 2001. Sean Zimmerman then doubled home Scott Berkes in the third inning to cut the lead to 3-2 before the three-run fourth helped Lock Haven pull away.

Berkes was 2-for-3 with the run scored to lead the Golden Eagle offense.

Luke Prazenica took the loss going five innings and allowing seven runs, all earned, on eight hits, six walks and six strikeouts. T.J. Anderson went one inning of relief allowing one earned run on one hit and a walk while striking out two.

Clarion falls to 6-25 overall, 1-16 in the PSAC-West.

NOTES - Kevin Gledhill's seven home runs in 2003 are the most at Clarion in the last decade. Gledhill also had six in 2005.
