DIAMONDMEN LOSE DH TO POINT PARK 12-11; 8-6

(Clarion, Pa.): The Clarion University baseball team had the lead in both games today against Point Park, and Jason Krimsky was 7 for 7 at the plate, but the Golden Eagles couldn't hold those leads and lost a doubleheader to the Pioneers by scores of 12-11 and 8-6 in 8-innings at Memorial Field.

The Golden Eagles overall record drops to 3-19 this season. Clarion is back in action on Friday when the Golden Eagles travel to IUP in PSAC-West play. The first pitch is set for 1pm.

In the opener Clarion jumped in front 2-0 in the second when Mark White doubled home Jason Krimsky and Ken Morgan. Krimsky had an rbi single in the third to give Clarion a 3-0 lead.

Point Park scored 5 runs in the fourth to go ahead 5-3, but the Eagles answered with 7 runs in the bottom on the third to take a 10-5 advantage. Scott Berkes and Erik Kempton had rbi singles, Sean Zimmerman walked with the bases loaded, Krimsky singled for an rbi, Morgan singled for two rbi's and Spencer White had an rbi double for the Eagles seven runs.

Point Park scored a run in the fifth, and Clarion answered with one in the bottom of the fifth to give Clarion an 11-6 lead.

The Pioneers erupted for 5 runs in the sixth and one in the top of the seventh to get the 12-11 victory. Clarion used 8 pitchers in the game. Mark White took the loss pitching the seventh inning. Jason Krimsky was 4 for 4 with 2 rbi's, while Scott Berkes, Mark White and Ken Morgan had two hits each.

In game two Clarion jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Erik Kempton doubled home Dane Dobson.

The Pioneers scored 3 runs in the second for a 3-1 lead, but the Eagles bounced back again with three runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to lead 5-3. Ken Morgan hit a two-run homer to key the fourth, and Kevin Keebler singled home Krimsky in the fifth for the lead.

Point Park answered with 3 in the top of the sixth to go ahead 6-5, but the Eagles weren't done yet. Ken Morgan doubled home Jason Krimsky with one out to tie the game 6-6, but couldn't get the game-winner home.

The Pioneers scored two in the eighth to win the game 8-6.

Scott Berkes pitched all eight innings in taking the loss. Krimsky and Morgan had three hits each, with Morgan getting 3 rbi's.

On the day, Krimsky was 7 for 7 with 2 rbi and 5 runs scored, while Ken Morgan was 5 for 8 with 5 rbi's.
