Ben Appleby was a triple winner and the 200 free relay won the final event pacing the Clarion's Men's Swimming team to a 135-127 win over Edinboro and a 142 – 120 win over Gannon in action on Saturday at McComb Fieldhouse.
Appleby led the Eagles by winning the 100 free (48.15), 200 free (1:47.07) and the 500 freestyle (4:54.87) races.
Mark Krchnak also took second place in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, and
Matt Bojalad was second in the 50 freestyle.
Clarion opened the dual meet with a win in the 200 medley relay by
Jon Kofmehl, Krchnak, Joe Welch and Joe Ward. Clarion needed to win the final event, the 200 free relay to defeat Edinboro and the Eagle team of
Ward, Casey Dunleavy, Appleby and Bojalad won the event with a time of 1:27.08, 23-hundredths of a second faster than Edinboro.
Clarion is now 3-3 on the season and hosts Duquesne next Saturday.
