(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion's Women's Swimmers
Kayla Shull (So. Franklin/Rocky Grove), Gina Mattucci (Sr. Jeannette/Penn Trafford) and Kayla Kelosky (Sr. Ellwood City/Riverside) were double winners, and
Kaitlyn Johnson (Sr. Uniontown) and
Morgan Oberlander (So. York/Dallastown), were winners, but Duquesne edged the Golden Eagles 152-148 on Saturday afternoon in women's swimming and diving.
Held at W.S. Tippin Natatorium, eight Clarion women's swimmers and divers, along with four men's swimmers and divers, were honored in pre-meet ceremonies in their last home dual.
Shull won the 50 back (27.74) and the 100 back (58.91), while Mattucci won the 50 free (24.64) and 100 free (54.40). Kelosky won both diving events including the 1 meter (289.25) and the 3 meter (275.60).
Johnson won the 50 yard butterfly (26.34) and Oberlander the 200 freestyle (1:57.67).
Clarion also won the opening 400 medley relay with a time of 3:55.90 with the team of Shull, Connolly, Johnson and Mattucci.

Kelly Connolly, Whitney Dudek (Diver, Williamsport), Laura Herron (Free/IM – Parma, Oh.), Johnson, Kelosky, Mattucci, Jessica Munoz (Diver – Aliquippa/Hopewell) and Kim Ogden (Diver – Canton, Ohio)…. The four men's seniors were
Jon Kofmehl, (Johnstown/Richland), Diver Logan Pearsall (Port Allegany), Garet Weston (Indiana, Pa.) and Luke Wilmoth (Erie).
The loss drops the women's team to 6-1 on the season. Both teams will swim at Pitt next Saturday starting at noon.
