MILLERSVILLE PULLS AWAY FROM CLARION

CLARION – Millersville used a big second-half run to pull away from Clarion for a 66-38 win in PSAC women's basketball crossover action Tuesday night at Clarion's Tippin Gym.

The Golden Eagles (2-8), who trailed 33-25, at halftime got within five, 35-30, four minutes into the half but couldn't get any closer, as Millersville (8-2) ended the game on a 31-8 run that included an 18-0 spurt.

Mackenzie Clark led Clarion with 14 points and seven rebounds, while Lauren Savulchak added eight points and three steals off the bench. Ann Deibert chipped in with seven points and nine rebounds.

Domonique Stroman paced a balanced Millersville attack with 12 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists. Sophia Waters added 11 points and Mashira Newman 10 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Clarion returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday at Shippensburg.
