(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion's James Robichaud (Fr. Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) was a double individual event winner against Grove City in the 2011-12 season opener, but the Golden Eagle Men's Swimming team lost to Grove City 195-138 at Waldo S. Tippin Natatorium.
 
Robichaud, a freshman, won the grueling 1650 freestyle in a time of 17:12.58, while also winning the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:06.05.
 
Also posting individual wins for the Golden Eagles were Joseph Ward (Jr. Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop), Mark Krchnak (Jr. Clearfield), Derek Nelson (So. Mt. Joy/Donegal) and Trevor Harris (Fr. Coyon Station/Williamsport).
 
Ward won the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.84, while Krchnak took the 100 breaststroke (1:01.71), Nelson the 200 breaststroke (2:16.05) and Harris the 200 butterfly at 2:08.47.
 
The 200 medley relay team of Ward, Krchnak, Joe Welch (Jr. Erie/Strong Vincent) and Ben Appleby (Jr. York/Suburban) took first with a time of 1:38.41.
 
Led by 12^th year head coach Mark VanDyke, Clarion returns to action on Friday, October 28 when the Golden Eagles host Shippensburg starting at 6pm.
