James Robichaud (Fr. Annapolis, Md./Broadneck), Ben Appleby (Jr. York/Suburban) and
Justin Duncan (Sr. South Park) were double individual event winners leading the Golden Eagle Men's Swimming and Diving team to a 147-94 win on Friday night over Shippensburg.
Held at Waldo S. Tippin Natatorium, Clarion raised its season record to 1-1.
Robichaud, a freshman, won the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:23.51 and the 400 I.M. with a time of 4:57.33. Appleby won the 100 freestyle (48.75) and the 200 free (1:47.62), while Duncan won both the 1 meter (273.45) and 3 meter (314.20) diving events.
Also posting individual wins for the Golden Eagles were
Joseph Ward (Jr. Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop), Mark Krchnak (Jr. Clearfield) and Scott Harvey (So. Macungie).
Ward won the 50 free (22.05), Krchnak took the 200 breaststroke (2:14.23), and Harvey won the 1000 free (10:15.71).
The 400 medley and 400 free relay teams were both winners. The 400 medley of Ward, Krchnak,
Joe Welch (Jr. Erie/Strong Vincent) and Casey Dunleavy (Jr. McMurray) swam a time of 3:36.95, while the 400 free team of Ward, Dunleavy,
Matthew Bojalad (Jr. DuBois) and Appleby won with a time of 3:15.65.
