Emilee Gysegem (Warren, Oh/Lakeview), Morgan Oberlander (Jr. York) and Kristin Day (Fr. Reynoldsville/DuBois) were double winners on Friday night as the Golden Eagle Women's Swimming and Diving team defeated Shippensburg 159-72.
Held at Tippin Natatorium, Clarion raised its 2011-12 season record to 2-0.
Gysegem won the 400 I.M. (4:39.35) and the 200 backstroke (2:11.90), while Oberlander was first in the 200 butterfly (2:09.35) and the 500 freestyle (5:20.15), while Day won the 1 meter (271.50) and 3 meter (235.15) diving events.
Also posting winning performances were
Kayla Shull (Jr. Franklin/Rocky Grove), Rachel Tano (Jr. Butler/Knoch), Lauren Szoszorek (Fr. Erie/McDowell),
Anna McNurlan (Fr. Washington/McMurray), and Megan Burrows (Sr. Canton, Oh.).
Shull won the 100 free (53.64),
Tano won the 200 breaststroke (2:29.89), Szoszorek was first in the 1000 free (10:50.75), McNurlan won the 50 free and Burrows took first in the 200 free (1:59.24).
The 400 medley relay of
Courtney Bogue (Sr. Glastonbury, Ct.), Tano, Oberlander and Shull won their event with a time of 4:02.65
