BRADY SETS CLARION CAREER DIGS MARK AS CLARION BEATS EDINBORO

EDINBORO – Rhianon Brady became Clarion's all-time digs leader and Amanda Gough went over 4,000 career set assists, as the Golden Eagle women's volleyball team continued to roll with a 3-1 win at Edinboro Friday night.
 
Brady recorded 30 digs giving her 2,567 in her career surpassing the previous record of 2,559 set by Vicky Gentile. Gough, meanwhile, added 30 set assists giving her 4,007, the second most in Clarion history.
 
Clarion (17-10 overall, 13-4 PSAC West), winners of four in a row, nine out of 10 and nine straight PSAC contests, dropped the first set 25-22 but won the next three by scores of 25-16, 25-21, 25-18.
 
Kellie Bartman had a monster night with 18 kills while hitting .395 (18 kills, 1 error, 43 attempts) and adding five digs. Rebecca Webb chipped in with 12 kills and two blocks with Kaitlyn Anderson adding nine kills. Gough completed a double-double with 19 digs.
 
Clarion, which wrapped up a PSAC Playoff spot earlier in the week, is a game back of Gannon for second place in the PSAC West with the top two teams getting a home playoff match. Clarion also trails California by two for the PSAC West title with two matches to play. The Golden Eagles are at California Nov. 5 after traveling to IUP Nov. 4. Cal and Gannon play Saturday.
 
The victory over Edinboro puts Clarion a game in front of the fourth place Fighting Scots (19-7, 11-5).
 
NOTES – Clarion is ranked fourth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region behind Wheeling Jesuit, California and Gannon. The Golden Eagles are the defending PSAC West, PSAC and Atlantic Region champions.
