MILLERSVILLE – Thanks to a 3-0 win over Lock Haven in the second of two PSAC Crossover matches Friday at Millersville, the Clarion University women's volleyball team earned a split in the crossovers.
The Golden Eagles beat Lock Haven by scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-22 after suffering a heartbreaking 3-2 (22-25, 19-25, 25-19, 25-23, 12-15) setback to the host Marauders in the first match of the day.
In the win over Lock Haven,
Kellie Bartman had 14 kills, seven digs and four blocks, and
Hannah Heeter added 10 kills and four blocks.
Amanda Gough set up the offense with 35 set assists and added eight digs,
Rhianon Brady had 15 digs,
Kaitlyn Anderson chipped in seven kills and Aubree Fry had six kills and three blocks.
Against Millersville, a trio of Clarion players reached double digits in kills led by 15 from Frye, who also had 14 digs and two blocks. Anderson added 11 kills, seven digs and four blocks with Heeter getting 10 kills and seven blocks. Gough had 49 set assists and 20 digs, and Brady chipped in 20 digs.
Clarion (9-9 overall, 5-4 PSAC West) returns to action with a pair of crossover matches at Shippensburg Saturday. The Golden Eagles face Shippensburg at 10 a.m. and East Stroudsburg at 3 p.m.
