MANLEY LEADS CLARION PAST IUP

INDIANA – Behind 15 kills and a .619 hitting percentage from Corinne Manley, the Clarion University volleyball team swept past IUP 3-0 in PSAC West women's volleyball action Friday night in Indiana.
 
Rebecca Webb added nine kills and six blocks for the Golden Eagles (18-10 overall, 14-4 PSAC West), who have won 10 straight PSAC contests and 10 of 11 overall.
 
Clarion won the first two sets easily by scores of 25-11 and 25-7 before taking the third one 25-23.
 
Kellie Bartman added eight kills, seven digs and two aces for Clarion, while Kaitlyn Anderson had seven kills and five digs. Amanda Gough ran the offense with 35 set assists and added seven digs, three kills and three blocks. Rhianon Brady paced the defense with 17 digs.
 
Despite the victory, Clarion's hopes of a repeat PSAC West title were dashed when California beat Slippery Rock 3-0. The Golden Eagles can still wrap up a No. 2 seed in the PSAC West with a win over Cal Saturday afternoon (1 p.m.).
