Joseph Ward (Jr. Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop) was a double individual event winner but it wasn't enough on Saturday afternoon as Carnegie Mellon defeated the Golden Eagles 167-133 in men's swimming and diving action.
Clarion's 2011-12 season record is 1-2.
Ward won both the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 21.62 and the 100 free in a time of 47.99.
Single event winners were
Ben Appleby (Jr. York/Suburban) Mark Krchnak (Jr. Clearfield), Justin Duncan (Sr. South Park) and
Seth Brandenburg (So. Canton, Ohio).
Appleby won the 200 freestyle with a 1:45.23 clocking, while Krchnak won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:00.29.
Duncan won the 1 meter diving scoring 275.47 points, while Brandenburg won the 3 meter event scoring 271.95 points.
The 200 free relay team of Ward,
Matthew Bojalad (Jr. DuBois), Joseph Welch (Jr. Erie/Strong Vincent) and Appleby with a time of 1:27.13.
