CLARION MEN 2ND - WARD WINS 50 FREE AT PSAC'S

Joe Ward & Casey Dunleavy Finish 1st & 3rd In 50 Free

            (Mechanicsburg, Pa.): Clarion University's Joseph Ward won the 50 free as the Golden Eagle Men's Swimming team moved up to second place as a team after the second day of the 53rd PSAC Championships.
 
            Held at Cumberland Valley High School, West Chester is in first place with 236 points with Clarion second at 192, Shippensburg third with 147 and Edinboro fourth with 134.5. Seven teams are participating.
 
In individual results, Ward led the Golden Eagle men with a first place finish in the 50 free with a time of 20.34.
 
            Casey Dunleavy was third in the 50 free (21.28), Matthew Bojalad was fifth in the 50 (21.50), Ben Appleby placed fourth in the 500 free (4:40.50), Jon Kofmehl was fourth in the 200 IM (1:56.24), Jake Campbell was 6th in the 200 IM (1:57.04) and Mark Krchnak was 8th in the 200 IM (1:57.18).
 
            Also earning points were Garet Weston who was 12th in the 500 (4:45.10) and Scott Harvey was 13th in the 500 (4:47.43).
 
            Both the 200 free and 400 medley relays finished second. The 200 free team of Ward, Dunleavy, Appleby and Bojalad swam a 1:23.10, while the team of Kofmhel, Krchnak, Joe Welch and Ward posted a time of 3:23.07.
 
The 53rd Men's Championship continues on Saturday and will finish on Sunday.
