LYNCH HAS BIG DAY BUT CLARION DROPS TWINBILL AT MANSFIELD

Game One Box Score / Game Two Box Score

MANSFIELD – Rebecca Lynch had three hits including a home run and a double and three RBIs in a doubleheader at Mansfield Thursday, but Clarion was swept in the twinbill by the Mountaineers losing Game One 3-2 and Game Two 4-1.
 
Lynch had a two-run second-inning double in the first game to give Clarion a 2-0 lead, but Mansfield scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh to get the walk-off win.
 
Erica Burkey took the loss going 6 2/3 innings and allowing the three unearned runs on three hits and six walks while striking out five. She was the victim of a pair of Clarion errors in the bottom of the seventh.
 
Carlie Cook and Kacie Nemeth scored the runs for the Golden Eagles.
 
In Game Two, Lynch, a junior, hit her first career home run to give Clarion a 1-0 lead. But Mansfield scored three times in the bottom of the first off Megan Daley and never looked back.
 
Daley took the loss going six innings and allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits and a walk while striking out three.
 
Clarion's season ends at 6-19 overall, 1-14 in the PSAC Central.
