ERIE – The Clarion University women's volleyball team split a pair of matches in the PSAC-WVIAC challenge Saturday afternoon at Mercyhurst.
The Golden Eagles fell 3-1 (26-28, 25-19, 23-25, 16-25) to Seton Hill but came back to beat West Virginia Wesleyan 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-13).
In the loss to Seton Hill, Clarion (4-4) got 17 kills and seven digs from
Kellie Bartman, 13 kills
Hannah Heeter,
Rebecca Beightol eight kills and 10 digs and
Kaitlyn Anderson eight kills.
Amanda Gough had 52 set assists, four kills and 11 digs and
Rhianon Brady had 38 digs.
Bartman once again led the way in the victory over West Virginia Wesleyan with 11 kills. Anderson and Beightol each had eight kills,
Rebecca Webb had six kills and four blocks, Gough added 29 set assists and Brady 16 digs.
Clarion returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Juniata in its home opener.
