CLARION VOLLEYBALL STARTS PSAC PLAY 2-0

Kutztown Box Score / Cheyney Box Score

INDIANA – Behind 17 kills vs. Kutztown by Kellie Bartman and eight kills vs. Cheyney by Corrine Manley, the Clarion University women's volleyball team won its first two matches at the PSAC Crossover at IUP Friday.
 
The Golden Eagles (6-5 overall, 2-0 PSAC West) topped Kutztown 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-16) in the conference opener for both teams Friday afternoon and then defeated Cheyney 3-0 (25-10, 25-7, 25-4) later in the day.
 
Against Kutztown, Bartman hit .333 (17 kills, 6 errors, 33 attacks) and added seven digs and a block. Hannah Heeter added seven kills, two digs and a block while hitting .429 (7-1-14) while Rebecca Webb, Rebecca Ferragonio and Rebecca Beightol each added six kills. Webb had .500 (6-0-12) and had five blocks. Amanda Gough set the offense up with 38 set assists while adding five digs and Rhianon Brady had 26 digs.
 
Versus Cheyney, Manley hit .800 (8-0-10, while freshman Laura Duncan added six kills. Freshman setter Laura Subject had 24 set assists and Lauren Magalski had four service aces. Aubree Frey chipped in five kills and hit .714 (5-0-7).
 
Clarion returns to action Saturday when it faces West Chester at IUP.
