CLARION FALLS AT SLIPPERY ROCK

SLIPPERY ROCK – Despite 46 combined kills from Kellie Bartman, Kaitlyn Anderson and Hannah Heeter, the Clarion University women's volleyball team was upset by Slippery Rock 3-1 Tuesday night at Slippery Rock.
 
The Rock jumped out to a 2-0 lead on the strength of 25-22 and 25-20 wins before Clarion rallied to win the third set 27-25. But Slippery Rock closed out the match with a 25-21 fourth-set victory.
 
Bartman led Clarion with 18 kills with Anderson and Heeter each adding 14 kills. Rhianon Brady had 24 digs with Amanda Gough recording 45 set assists.
 
Clarion (8-7 overall, 4-2 PSAC West) returns to action at 7 p.m. Friday when it hosts Edinboro in the Golden Eagles home PSAC West opener.
