Clarion University's NCAA Division I Wrestling team gets back into action on Sunday, January 15 when the Golden Eagles travel to Ypsilanti, Michigan to take part in the Eastern Michigan duals.
Clarion will open the duals at 11am against Indiana Tech, then follow with a match against Eastern Michigan at 1 p.m. The 11 a.m. match against Indiana Tech will air on C-93 (92.7; WCCR-FM) in Clarion and on the internet at redzonemedia.com with
Rich Herman doing the play by play.
The Golden Eagles, under first year head coach Matt Dernlan, are 0-3 on the season in dual meet action with all three losses against top 25 ranked teams. Clarion opened the year traveling to Lehigh and lost 27-12 to #8 Lehigh (27-12) and 34-13 to #7 Illinois. Clarion then lost 37-12 to Edinboro. The Scots are currently ranked 23
rd in the nation.

Eastern Michigan enters Sunday's matchup under sixth year head coach Derek Delporto with a 7-3 overall record and a 1-0 mark in the MAC. The “Eagles” have big wins over Michigan State (20-16); Cleveland State (33-9); Ohio U (22-14) and VMI (25-10). Losses have come to Pitt (22-15), Columbia (30-12) and Binghamton (22-12).

Indiana Tech is doing well in its first season of wrestling at the NAIA level. Indiana Tech is led by first year head coach Mike Ester who has led the Warriors to a 1-3 record. Tech has its first win against Lindsey Wilson (29-18) and has lost to Tiffin (18-15), Univ. of Cumberlands (33-16) and Campbellsville (34-15).
