CLARION WRESTLERS 1-1 AT EMU DUALS

                (Ypsilanti, Michigan): Clarion's Cameron Moran, James Fleming and  Bekzod Abdurakhmonovand  were double winners on Sunday leading Clarion to a 46-3 win over Indiana Tech, while losing a tough 25-12 decision to host Eastern Michigan.

                Held at Bowen Fieldhouse, Clarion moved its record to 1-4 on the season.

                The Golden Eagles won 9 of 10 bouts in the opener and posted 5 pin falls in defeating Indiana Tech 46-3.
                
                Already ahead 6-0 on decisions by Trey Hicks (125) and Joe Waltko (133), Tyler Bedelyon pinned Adam Fahs at 3:26 at 141-pounds to put Clarion ahead 12-0.

                Senior Cameron Moran pinned Reece Lefever (2:30) at 149, #6 ranked James Fleming pinned Grayson Smith (1:49) at 157 and #8 Bekzod Abdurakhmonov pinned Kafuba Donzon (:51) at 165 to put the Eagles in front 30-0.

                Indiana Tech's Tanner Martin decisioned Nick Milano 9-7 with a takedown in the final 25-seconds, then the Eagles bounced back with a fall from Steven Cressley at 4:43 over Dustin Boyd at 184 giving Clarion a 36-3 advantage.

                After Alex Thomas received a forfeit win, heavyweight Quintas McCorkle won a 15-5 major decision over Andre Dunn to give Clarion a 46-3 win over Indiana Tech and first year head coach Matt Derlan his first win leading the Golden Eagles.

                In the nightcap against EMU, Clarion trailed 12-0 after the first three weight classes, but bounced back to tie the match 12-12 with three straight wins.

                Cameron Moran dominated his bout at 149 winning a 13-0 major decision over Jaylyn Bohl. Moran had a takedown, reversal and three near falls for the win.

                James Fleming, ranked sixth in the nation at 157, scored an 11-2 major decision over Aaron Sulzer. Fleming had two takedowns and two near falls for his win, moving his season record to 16-2.

                Bekzod Abdurakhmonov, ranked #8 in the nation, won a 17-5 major decision over Lester France at 165 to tie the team score 12-2. Bekzod had six takedowns and a near fall in pushing his season record to 20-4.

                Eastern Michigan won the final four bouts to win the dual 25-12.

                CLARION NOTES: Clarion will travel to Pitt on Friday for a 7pm match at Fitzgerald Field House, and then on to West Virginia on Sunday for a 2pm match against the Mountaineers.
