HEETER HAS ANOTHER DOUBLE-DOUBLE BUT CLARION FALLS AT LOCK HAVEN

Box Score LOCK HAVEN – Freshman Hannah Heeter had her third straight double-double, but it wasn't  enough as Lock Haven knocked off visiting Clarion 85-70 Wednesday night at Lock Haven's Thomas Fieldhouse.
 
Clarion (4-11 overall, 3-8 PSAC West) trailed b 19, 57-38, following a Heather McHugh three-pointer just over four minutes into the second half. That three ended an 18-6 Lock Haven (7-7, 6-5) run. But the Golden Eagles answered with a 22-7 run of its own thanks to six points each by Raven Jones and Ann Deibert and closed to within four, 64-60, when Jones hit one of two free throws with 6:33 left.
 
But McHugh stopped the bleeding for Lock Haven with a three-pointer with 6:13 left. That three started an 11-2 Lady Eagle run that returned the lead to double digits.
 
Jones led Clarion with 17 points in the game, while Courtney Healy and Deibert both added nine points apiece.  Deibert also finished with five rebounds and Healy with three.   
 
Lock Haven had four players in double figures. McHugh, who hit five three-pointers, and Sharay Hall each had 19 with all 19 of Hall's coming in the second half. Peaches Nesmith added 16 points with Mahogany Spence and Samantha Lane each with 10.
 
Clarion returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday at Gannon.
