FINAL RESULTS
(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion's
Megan Burrows (Sr. Canton, Oh.) and
Morgan Oberlander (Jr. York/Dallastown) were double winners on Saturday as the Golden Eagle Women's Swimming and Diving team defeated Edinboro and Gannon in NCAA D-II action.
Held at Clarion's W.S. Tippin Natatorium on “Senior Day”, Clarion defeated Edinboro 153 – 84 and also downed Gannon 158 – 63. Clarion raised its dual meet record to 6-0 and 4-0 in the PSAC.
Oberlander won the 200 freestyle (1:59.19) and the 500 freestyle (5:18.97), while Burrows captured the 100 freestyle (55.27) and the 100 breaststroke (1:08.65)
Also posting individual wins in the pool were
Kayla Shull (Jr. Franklin/Rocky Grove),
Samantha VanDyke (Jr. Maineville, Oh.) and Emilee Gysegem (Fr. Warren, Oh/Lakeview).
Shull won her specialty, the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.75, while VanDyke won the 100 butterfly (1:01.39) and Gysegem the 200 I.M. (2:12.69).
Also finishing first was the 200 medley relay team of
Courtney Bogue (Sr. Glastonbury, Ct.), Burrows, Kelsey Slayton (Fr. White Lake, Mi.) and Shull, with a time of 1:50.73.
The diving contingent was also successful as
Kristin Day (Fr. Reynoldsville/DuBois) took first place in 1 meter diving (289.13), while
Jenna Thomas (Fr. White Lake, Mi.) in 3 meter diving (235.65).
