Box Score EDINBORO – Freshman
Hannah Heeter recorded her ninth straight double-digit game, but No. 3 and unbeaten Edinboro got 25 points from Kiara Brown to defeat visiting Clarion 87-51 in PSAC women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at McComb Fieldhouse.
Heeter, who also had four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block, hit 5 of 7 shots from the field in 25 minutes of action for the Golden Eagles (5-13 overall, 4-10 PSAC West).
Edinboro (18-0, 14-0), though, used a 34-6 first-half run fueled by nine points from Brown to build a 47-21 halftime lead.
Renee Brown added 13 points and five rebounds for Edinboro, while Raven Metz had nine points and 10 boards.
Raven Jones chipped in nine points and three assists for Clarion with
Courtney Healy and
Mackenzie Clark each adding seven. Clark also had seven rebounds off the bench in 20 minutes of action.
Clarion returns to action at 5:30 p.m. when it hosts Slippery Rock. It will be Hawaiian Night at Tippin Gym with all fans encouraged to wear family-appropriate tropical attire.
NOTES – Heeter saw her streak of five straight double-doubles end, partly because of first-half foul trouble that had her play only eight minutes in the half, but she is still averaging 13.9 points and 12.7 rebounds per game since the first of the year.
