FINAL RESULTS
(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion's
Emilee Gysegem (So. Warren, Oh./Lakeview) was a triple winner, while
Kayla Shull (Sr. Franklin/Rocky Grove), Rachel Tano (Sr. Butler/Knoch) and Kristin Day (Reynoldsville/Dubois) were double winners on Saturday as the Golden Eagles defeated Bloomsburg 192-5 – 107.5 on Saturday afternoon in Women's Swimming and Diving at Tippin Natatorium.
Gysegem won the 100 freestyle (54.73), 200 free (1:56.70) and the 400 I.M. (4:35.91), while Shull captured the 100 backstroke (58.29) and the 200 back (2:08.86), with Tano taking the 100 breaststroke (1:08.26) and the 200 breast (2:27.28).
Day led the divers with wins in the one meter (267.85) and three meter (272.55) competition.
Other Clarion winners included
Morgan Oberlander (S. York/Dallastown), Emily Ondrizek (Fr. Gettysburg) and Samantha VanDyke (Maineville, Oh.)
Oberlander won the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:11.74, Ondrizek won the 50 free with a 25.23 clocking and VanDyke took the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.22.
The 400 medley relay of
Gabriella Schaffer (Fr. Reading/Muhlenberg), Tano, Gysegem and Shull won with a time of 3:59.77, while the 400 free relay of
Madison Sewell (Sr. Walled Lake, Mi.), Tano, Ondrizek and
Anna McNurlen (Washington/McGuffey) won with a time of 3:40.29.
Clarion is now 3-0 in dual meet action and will be off until swimming at the Zippy Invitational at Akron from Nov. 30 – Dec. 2.
CLARION NOTES: Due to an unusual schedule, the Bloomsburg meet was the only home meet of the season … Today served as the Golden Eagle senior day .. 5 Seniors swim in their last home meet including Oberlander, Sewell, Shull, Tano and Vandyke…. They were honored in pre-match ceremonies.
