CLARION RALLIES PAST NOTRE DAME COLLEGE OF OHIO

Raven Jones had 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 blocks

Box Score CANTON, Ohio – The Clarion University women's basketball team rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to defeat Notre Dame College of Ohio, 57-55, Saturday afternoon in Canton, Ohio.
 
The Golden Eagles (2-1) trailed 40-29 following a 3-pointer by Norte Dame's Courtney Clark with 14:04 to play.
 
But Clarion went on a 15-2 run fueled by seven points from freshman Leisha Crawford, her only points of the game, to take its first lead of the game, 44-42, on two Crawford free throws with 9:35 left.
 
The Falcons (0-3) responded and went ahead 50-48 on a pair of Lauren Macer charity shots with 4:45 left, but a Lauren Savulchak three at the 3:41 mark put Clarion back ahead 52-50.
 
Norte Dame turned the score one last time taking a 53-52 lead on an Erin Entinghe jumper at 1:39.
 
Clarion, though, responded with the next four points as Ann Deibert hit a layup at 1:18 to put the Golden Eagles up for good, and Raven Jones followed with a key basket with 38 seconds left to expand the lead to three, 56-53.
 
Jones led Clarion with 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots, while Savulchak added 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Mariah Gador chipped in eight points, seven rebounds and two steals and Deibert had seven points and four boards.
 
Entinghe led Notre Dame with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Macer had 14 points, six rebounds and three assists.
 
Clarion returns to action at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 27 when it hosts Pitt-Johnstown.
