FINAL RESULTS
CLARION WOMEN'S SWIMMERS TOP CMU 198-102
(Clarion, Pa.): Clarion's
Kayla Shull (Sr. Franklin/Rocky Grove), Gabriella Schaffer (Fr. Reading/Muhlenberg) and
Rachel Tano (Sr. Butler/Knoch) were double individual event winners on Saturday as the Golden Eagle Women's Swimming and Diving team defeated Carnegie Mellon 198-102 at CMU.
Shull won the 100 free (53.55) and the 200 free (1:55.17), while Schaffer won the 100 backstroke (58.66) and the 200 back (2:10.27) and Tano took the 100 breaststroke (1:08.44) and 200 breast (2:27.52).
Other individual event winners in the pool for the golden Eagles included
Emilee Gysegem (So. Warren, Oh./Lakeview), Mallory Moore (Fr. W. Bloomsmfield, Mi.), Morgan Oberlander (S. York/Dallastown) and Emily Ondrizek (Fr. Gettysburg).
Gysegem won the 200 IM (2:10.51), Moore the 1000 free (10:47.01), Oberladner the 200 fly (2:11.72) and Ondrizek the 50 free (25.26).
Clarion also won both diving events with sophomore
Kristin Day (Reynoldsville/Dubois) winning the 1 meter with 276.15 points and
Caitlyn Kaufman (Fr. Butler) winning the 3 meter with 276.18 points.
The 200 medley relay team of Schaffer, Tano,
Kelsey Slayton (So. White Lake, Mi.) and Shull won with a time of 1:48.71; while the 200 free relay of Shull,
Anna McNurlen (Washington/McGuffey), Emily Wadlinger (Fr. Lebanon, N.H.) and Ondrizek also won with a time of 1:40.01.
Clarion is now 2-0 in dual meet action and will host Bloomsburg next Saturday at 1pm at Tippin Natatorium.
