FINAL RESULTS
(Pittsburgh, Pa.): Clarion's
Megan Burrows (Sr. Canton, Ohio) earned a second and
Kayla Shull (Jr. Franklin/Rocky Grove), Morgan Oberlander (Jr. York/Dallastown) and diver
Kristin Day (Fr. Reynoldsville/DuBois) posted third place finishes at the Pitt Invitational on Saturday to lead the Golden Eagles.
With swimming held at Trees Pool at Pitt and Diving at Carnegie Mellon, Clarion lost 232-50 to Pitt, 168-108 to California, 148-132 to Grove City and 146-135 to Carnegie Mellon. Clarion finishes the dual meet season with a 6-5 record.
Burrows placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.70, while Shull placed third in the 50 free (24.51), Oberlander third in the 200 IM (2:14.25) and Day third in 3 meter diving with 236.50 points. She also placed fifth in 1 meter diving with 235.15 points.
Also placing were
Rachel Tano (Jr. Butler) and Lauren Szoszorek (Erie/McDowell). Tano placed 5
th in the 200 free (1:57.97) and 6
th in the 200 IM (2:18.53), while Szoszorek was 5
th in the 50 freestyle (5:21.62).
The 200 medley relay of
Shull, Burrows,
Kelsey Slayton (Fr. White Lake, Mi.) and
Anna McNurlen (Fr. Washington/McMurray) was 3
rd with a time of 1:50.37; while the 200 free relay of
Shull, Tyler Ness (Fr. Reading),
Burrows and McNurlen were 5
th with a time of 1:40.36.
Clarion, under 12
th year head coach
Mark VanDyke, has now finished its dual meet schedule. Clarion will participate in the PSAC Championships Feb. 16-19.
