Box Score 2 LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Despite a three-hit, two-RBI performance in Game Two by Clarion's
Sara Clark, Lock Haven swept a PSAC Central doubleheader from the visiting Golden Eagles Friday afternoon.
The Lady Eagles (13-10 overall, 3-1 PSAC Central) won Game One 6-0 then took Game Two 11-3 in six innings despite the strong performance by Clark.
In Game Two, Clark went 3-for-4 and had a pair of RBI singles. Her run-producing infield hit in the second inning scored
Shawnna Crago and tied the game at 1-1 before Lock Haven scored two in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good.
Clark then added an RBI-single in the sixth inning scoring
Taylor Sherry to get Clarion back within five, 8-3, before Lock Haven ended the game with a three-run bottom of the sixth.
Sherry had a two-out RBI double that scored
Elizabeth Shiring in Clarion's two-run sixth inning as well.
Rebecca Lynch added a 2-for-4 performance in the contest for the Golden Eagles.
Julie Sokol was the losing pitcher tossing 4 2/3 innings and allowing eight runs, four earned, on eight hits and three walks while striking out one.
Chelsea Zola relieved and allowed three runs, all earned, on three hits and a walk. She also struck out one.
In Game One, Lock Haven scored twice in the second and then added four unearned runs in the sixth for the 6-0 victory.
Clarion had two hits in the game with
Taylor Powell delivering a double and
Amanda Gough a single.
Megan Daley took the loss going six innings and allowing six runs, two earned, on seven hits and two walks.
Clarion returns to action with a 1 p.m. home doubleheader vs. Kutztown Saturday.
