Clarion drops doubleheader to Slippery Rock

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CLA RION, Pa.-Despite a strong performance on the mound by Shawnna Crago in game one, Clarion (8-28, 0-12) fell to Slippery Rock (15-16, 2-10) 2-0, and went on to lose game two 11-2.
 
Crago threw a complete game only surrendering two runs, one earned, on four hits while striking out four.
 
Slippery Rock jumped off to an early lead scoring its only two runs in the first inning. The Golden Eagles combined for seven hits, but were unable to put any runs across falling in game one 2-0.
 
In the bottom of the second inning in game two, Amanda Gough hit a two run homer scoring Taylor Sherry tying the game up at 2-2. It was all Slippery Rock from there, scoring nine unanswered runs.
 
Megan Daley started for the Golden Eagles in game two and going four innings, giving up six runs, on 10 hits.  Chelsea Zola came in and pitched three innings surrendering five runs on eight hits.
 
Clarion returns to action Friday with a doubleheader at IUP. First game is set for 2:30 p.m.
