Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MANSFIELD, Pa. – Clarion's Taylor Powell went a combined 4-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs, but the Golden Eagles dropped a PSAC Central doubleheader at Mansfield losing Game One 12-4 in five innings and Game Two 9-5.

In Game One, Clarion (7-15 overall, 0-4 PSAC Central) dropped the decision despite Powell's first career triple, Taylor Sherry's team-leading third home run of the season and Rebecca Lynch's first round tripper of the year.

Mansfield (15-8, 3-3) used a seven-run first and a five-run fifth to get the victory.

Despite allowing the seven first-inning runs, Clarion closed to within three, 7-4, going to the bottom of the fifth thanks in part to fifth-inning home runs by Sherry and Lynch with Lynch's being a two-run shot in the fifth that also platted Kacie Nemeth, playing in her first game since suffering an injury on Clarion's spring-break trip. Lynch finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Sherry was 1-for-1 with two RBIs and a run scored. Powell was 2-for-2 with the run scored.

Powell scored Clarion's first run of the game when she tripled leading off the second and scored on a Sherry sacrifice fly to center.

Julie Sokol took the loss for the Golden Eagles allowing 12 runs, five earned, on 14 hits and two walks while striking out one in 4 2/3 innings of work.

In Game Two, Mansfield used a six-run sixth to overcome a 5-3 deficit. The Mountaineers led 3-0 thanks to a three-spot in the fifth before Clarion answered with five runs of its own in the top of the sixth.

Powell and Amanda Gough had the big hits in the sixth for the Golden Eagles with Powell's two-run double brining home Clarion's first two runs and Gough following up with a go-ahead three-run home run, her first of the season, to left-center.

But Mansfield was able to answer thanks to three hits and two walks in the bottom of the inning.

Powell once again led the offense going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and the run scored. Gough was 1-for-3 with the three-run home run.

Megan Daley took the loss going six innings and allowing nine runs, seven earned, on seven hits and three walks.
