STEWART, FERRAGONIO HAVE BIG GAMES, BUT VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT SETON HILL

Box Score GREENSBURG, Pa. – Despite 21 kills and 19 digs from Emily Stewart and 34 digs from Rebecca Ferragonio, the Clarion University women's volleyball team fell 3-1 (22-25, 25-13, 18-25, 21-25) at Seton Hill in non-conference action Tuesday night.
 
Stewart's 21 kills are the most by a Golden Eagle since Kellie Bartman had 28 in a 3-1 win vs. Wheeling Jesuit in the NCAA Division II playoffs in 2010, while Ferragonio's 34 digs are the ninth most in a match in school history and the most since Rhianon Brady had 38 vs. Seton Hill last season.
 
Carlie Bieranowski added 12 kills, and Rebecca Webb seven kills and three digs for Clarion (9-3), which saw its seven-game win streak come to an end. Laura Subject set up the offense with 48 set assists while adding 9 digs, and Lauren Magalski added 13 digs.
 
Clarion returns to action at a PSAC Crossover Friday at West Chester. The Golden Eagles take on the host Golden Rams at 7 p.m.
