HEETER HAS 21ST DOUBLE-DOUBLE BUT CLARION FALLS AT NO. 23 IUP

Hannah Heeter had 24 points, 13 rebounds in the loss

Box Score INDIANA, Pa. – Despite Hannah Heeter's 21st career double-double, the Clarion University women's basketball dropped an 84-67 decision at No. 23 IUP Saturday night.
 
Heeter had a season-high 24 points, the second most in her career and her seventh career 20-point contest, while adding 13 rebounds and three steals, but it wasn't enough to offset four IUP players in double digits.
 
Marita Mathe led the Crimson Hawks with 17 points while hitting five of IUP's nine 3-pointers in the game, while Sarah Pastorek had 16 points and Lindsay Stamp and Zhane Brooks each had 10 points.
 
Emma Fickel chipped in a season-high 11 tallies for Clarion while hitting a pair of 3-pointers, while Mariah Gador added nine points.
 
IUP built a 42-26 halftime lead and expanded that lead to as many as 25 in the second half. The Crimson Hawks used a strong advantage on the offensive boards (16 offensive rebounds) to score 16 second-chance points while also shooting 45.9 percent (28 of 61).
 
Clarion shot 42.6 percent (23 of 54) from the field led by Heeter's 8 of 14 shooting.
 
The Golden Eagles return to action at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when they host Lock Haven.
 
NOTES – Heeter is now tied with Leatha Dudeck and Jessica Albanese for sixth all-time in school history with 21 career double-doubles … Her 24 points were the second to her 28 vs. Lock Haven last year.
