FINAL RESULTS

                (Edinboro, Pa.): Gabriella Schaffer (Fr. Reading/Muhlenberg) won three individual events and Kayla Shull (Sr. Franklin, Rocky Grove) won two in leading the Golden Eagle Women's Swimming team past Edinboro on Saturday afternoon by a score of 141-118.

                Held at the McComb Natatorium, Clarion 13th year head coach Mark Van Dyke saw his team raise its season record to 4-0 and 2-0 in the PSAC. Edinboro dropped to 6-3 overall.

                Schaffer won three events on Saturday including the 100 backstroke (59.08), 200 backstroke (2:09.12) and 100 yard butterfly (1:00.96).

                Shull meanwhile won the 100 freestyle (53.18) and the 200 free (1:54.46) and was part of two winning relays. The first relay, the 200 medley, saw Clarion win by one-hundredth of a second with a time of 1:51.38. Shull swam the anchor leg, made up ground on her opponent, and touched out the scot for the win. Also on that relay were Schaffer, Madi Sewell (Sr. Walled Lake, Mi.), Kelsey Slayton (So. White Lake, Mi.) and Shull.

                The other winning relay was the 200 free, which won in a time of 1:39.99.  Shull, Anna McNurlen (So. Washington/McGuffey), Emily Wadlinger (Fr. Lebanon, N.H.) and Mallory Moore (Fr. W. Bloomfield, Mi.).

                Also winning events for the women were Moore, Sewell and Morgan Oberlander (Sr. York/Dallastown). Moore won the 1000 free (10:56.07), Sewell the 200 breaststroke (2:33.84) and Oberlander the 200 fly (2:13.49).

                The Golden Eagles will swim at Pitt on February 2, with the PSAC Championships set on Feb. 14-17 at Cumberland Valley High School.
