Box Score 2 KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Behind 71 combined kills and 40 combined digs from

Hannah Heeter and
Emily Stewart, the Clarion University women's volleyball team picked up a pair of PSAC Crossover wins Saturday afternoon in Kutztown.
The Golden Eagles (23-1 overall, 12-1 PSAC West) topped host Kutztown 3-2 (26-24, 25-13, 27-29, 23-25, 15-4) in the opening match of the day and then dispatched West Chester 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-14) later in the afternoon.
Stewart had 27 kills and 28 digs with 21 of the kills and 10 of the digs coming in the win over Kutztown.
Bieranowski added 24 kills, 16 vs. Kutztown, and 21 digs (15 vs. the Golden Bears), while Heeter had 20 kills (12 vs. Kutztown), six digs and six blocks to lead Clarion. Heeter hit .727 (8 kills, 0 errors, 11 attempts) in the win over West Chester.
Laura Subject smoothly ran the offense with 76 set assists on the day including 54 vs. Kutztown in a match that also saw her record 20 digs.
Morgan Seybold added 39 digs on the day including 26 in the win over Kutztown.
The victory over Kutztown saw Clarion squeak by in the first set 26-24 behind six kills from Stewart. After the Golden Eagles took an early 10-5 lead in the set, the set was never separated by more than a point until Clarion got the final two points on a
Kelly Shannon kill and a Heeter and
Corinne Manley block.
In the second set, the Golden Eagles cruised to the 25-13 win before Kutztown fought back taking the next two sets 29-27 and 25-23. Clarion led 24-21 in the third set before the Golden Bears rallied for the victory. Then in the fourth set the Golden Eagles trailed 20-11 before closing to 24-23.
But in the fifth set, it was all Clarion with Heeter getting three kills and a block in the victory.
With the two wins, Clarion has now won nine straight. The Golden Eagles will face defending regional champion Wheeling Jesuit in a key regional non-conference match Tuesday in Wheeling, W. Va.
