GOLDEN EAGLES WBB DROP 73-63 DECISION AT WHEELING JESUILT

Hannah Heeter had her 30th career double-double (11 points, 16 rebounds) in her season debut

Box Score WHEELING, W. Va. – The Clarion University women's basketball team dropped a 73-63 non-conference decision at Wheeling Jesuit Saturday evening.
 
The Golden Eagles (2-4) trailed by 13, 43-30, at halftime.
 
Hannah Heeter, making her season debut a little over a week after finishing her four-year volleyball career for the Golden Eagles, recorded her 30th career double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds in 24 minutes of action – she was saddled with foul trouble limiting her minutes. It was also the 18th career games of 15 or more rebounds for the red-shirt junior from nearby Cranberry High School. She shot 5 of 10 from the field.
 
Emma Fickel and Kelly Johnson each added 14 points for Clarion, while Raven Jones added eight points, five rebounds and three assists.
 
Breanna Butler led all scorers with 20 points including going 4 of 7 from 3-point range, for Wheeling Jesuit (2-5) while adding eight rebounds. Taneka Lewis chipped in 19 points, six assists and three boards with Jaila Bryant adding 14 points and five rebounds and Kylie Frizell 10 points and six rebounds.
 
Wheeling Jesuit made a living at the free-throw line going 23 of 35 while Clarion was 7 of 13.
 
The Golden Eagles return to action at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when they host Kutztown before hosting Mansfield at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
