STEWART, SUBJECT LEAD VOLLEYBALL PAST NOTRE DAME (Ohio)

Emily Stewart had 13 kills in the 3-0 win

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – Behind 13 kills and nine digs from Emily Stewart and 37 set assists and six digs from PSAC West Player of the Week Laura Subject, the Clarion University women's volleyball team made short work of Notre Dame College of Ohio with a 3-0 win Friday afternoon at the California (Pa.) Invitational.
 
Stewart hit .357 (13 kills, 3 errors, 28 attempts) as Clarion hit .314 (48-11-118) as a team while getting 25-12, 25-18, 25-20 wins.
 
The Golden Eagles also held Notre Dame to .027 hitting (23-20-112) with Clarion recording 10 blocks, including three from Abbey Cox, and 57 digs, with Morgan Seybold leading the way with 16.
 
Offensively, Hannah Heeter chipped in with 10 kills while hitting .350 (10-3-20), Carlie Bieranowski added seven kills and Corinne Manley six while hitting .385 (6-1-13). Both Bieranowski and Manley each had two blocks as well, while Bieranowski adding eight digs and Manley five.
 
Defensively, Lauren Magalski chipped in with nine digs.
 
Clarion moved to 5-0 on the young season and hasn't lost a set yet. The Golden Eagles return to action at 7 p.m. Friday vs. Davis & Elkins.
