CLARION DEFEATS BROWN/LOSES TO BUCKNELL IN NCAA WRESTLING
(Lewisburg, Pa.): Clarion split its dual meets on Saturday afternoon , defeating Brown 24-16 while losing to Bucknell 24-18 in NCAA Division I wrestling held at Bucknell University.
Clarion won seven bouts in the first dual meet win over Brown.
Tyler Bedelyon led the Golden Eagles with a fall at 141-pounds.
Clarion and Bucknell won 5 bouts each in the nightcap, but the Bison posted 3 falls to only 1 for the Golden Eagles providing the winning margin for Bucknell.
Held at Bucknell's Davis Gymnasium, Clarion won the first six bouts on its way to a 24-16 win over Brown.
Hunter Jones defeated Vince Moita 9-6 at 125 and
Sam Sherlock decisioned Anthony Finocchiaro 9-6 at 133 to give the Eagles a 6-0 lead.

Tyler Bedelyon stepped up with a pin at 6:58 over Jack Twomey-Kozak at 141, while
Justin Arthur decisioned Cortland Choate 9-3 at 149 and Austin Mathews posted n 8-2 win over John Staudenmayer at 157 putting Clarion ahead 18-0.
Michael Pavasko kept the ball rolling at 165 with a 4-1 win over Philip Marano giving the Eagles a 21-0 advantage. Although Brown won the next three to pull within 21-16, Clarion heavyweight
Evan Daley scored a 9-5 decision over Ryder Cavey to give Clarion a 24-16 victory.
Clarion's inability to avoid giving up big points proved fatal as Bucknell defeated Clarion 24-18 in the nightcap.
After
Hunter Jones was pinned at 125, Clarion reeled off four straight wins to take a 15-6 advantage.
Sam Sherlock won a 6-3 decision over Grim Gonzalez at 133, then
Tyler Bedelyon scored his second pin of the day with a fall over Connor Lapresi at 5:33 to give Clarion a 9-6 lead.
Justin Arthur came on to win a 7-1 decision over Victor Lopez at 149 and
Austin Matthews won a 7-2 decision over Ray Schlitt at 157 giving Clarion a15-6 lead.
Steven Nelson was pinned at 165, but the Eagles
Ryan Darch won a stunning 7-5 overtime decision over Joe Krulock at 174 putting the Eagles in front 18-12.
Dustin Conti lost a decision at 184 and
Daniel Sutherland lost at 197 tying the team score 18-18 heading to heavyweight. #19 ranked Joe Stolfi pinned Clarion freshman
Evan Daley at 4:01 to win the match for the Bison.
Clarion's dual meet record is now 6-10. The Golden Eagles host Lock Haven on Friday, January 31 at 7pm.
