CLARION MEN'S SWIMMERS DUNK EDINBORO 173-107 – NELSON TRIPLE WINNER

 
                (Clarion, Pa.): Clarion breaststroke specialist Derek Nelson (Sr. Mount Joy/Donegal) was a triple winner,  while Ben Spencer (Fr. Tunkhannock), James Robichaud (Jr. Annapolis, Md.), Royce Tipper (Sr. Coraopolis/Cornell) and Heath Calhoun (Sr. Renfrew/Butler) were double winners on Saturday leading Clarion to a 173-107 win over Edinboro in Men's Swimming and Diving.
 
                Held at W.S. Tippin Natatorium on Senior Day, Clarion raised its record to 2-1, while Edinboro dropped to 1-7.
 
                Nelson had a strong day in the pool winning the 100 breaststroke (57.49), 200 breaststroke (2:09.82) and the 200 I.M. (2:01.35).
 
                Spencer won both the 100 backstroke (55.34) and 200 backstroke (1:59.74), Robichaud the 100 free (48.87) and the 200 free (1:47.31), and Tipper the 100 butterfly (53.34) and the 200 fly (2:00.83).
 
                Luke Simpson (Fr. Charleroi) also won the 50 freestyle in a time of 21.96.
 
                In diving, senior Heath Calhoun won the 1 meter with 300.70 points and the 3 meter competition with 338.85 points.
 
                Clarion's 200 medley relay team of Spencer, Nelson, Tipper and Simpson also won with a time of 1:37.52.
 
                Clarion will next dive at the Pitt Invite on Jan. 31 and swim at the Pitt Invite on Feb. 1
