EDINBORO, Pa. - Three Clarion University women's volleyball players reached double figures in kills to lead the visiting Golden Eagles to a 3-1 win at Edinboro in PSAC West play Friday night.

Carlie Bieranowski led Clarion with 18 kills and 12 digs while hitting .260 (18 kills, 5 errors, 50 attempts), Abbey Cox added 11 kills, five blocks and three digs and hit .417 (11-1-24) and Taylor Braunagel had 10 kills and two digs.

Clarion (21-2 overall, 13-1 PSAC West) took the first two sets by scores of 30-28 and 25-22 before Edinboro rallied to force a fourth set with a 25-18 third-set victory. But the Golden Eagles came back in the fourth set to take the match with a 25-20 win.

Mackenzie Biggs added eight kills for Clarion, while Laura Subject had 44 set assists and 13 digs.

On defense for the Golden Eagles, Morgan Seybold recorded 27 digs, Mattison Thornton had 11 digs and Catherine Ferragonio added 10 digs.

Edinboro (18-7, 9-5) was paced by 16 kills and 20 digs from Marah Maycock, while Sydney Trathen added 28 sets assists and eight kills. Haley Marett led the defense with 25 digs.

Clarion returns to action at 1 p.m. Saturday when it hosts Slippery Rock. It's the annual Clarion Halloween Bash contest with Clarion students getting a chance to win prizes sponsored by the Clarion Student Association and the Clarion Sports Information Office.
