INDIANA, Pa. – Clarion goal keeper
Laura Saussol made seven saves, but IUP scored a lone second-half goal to beat the visiting Golden Eagles 1-0 in PSAC play Saturday afternoon in Indiana.
Saussol made five saves during a scoreless first half, but IUP's Taylor Vladic beat the Golden Eagle senior keeper on a shot off a cross pass from Brittney Kuhns in the 50
th minute for the game's lone goal.
Clarion (3-10-1 overall and in the PSAC), playing for the first time in 11 days, did get two shots on IUP keeper Jessica Printz in the second half after being held shotless in the opening 45 minutes but couldn't score.
Stephanie Lias and
McKenzie Sheesley each had shots on net for the Golden Eagles.
IUP improved to 9-5-2 overall and 8-5-1 in the PSAC with the victory.
Clarion returns to action at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mercyhurst before closing out the season on Senior Night at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 against Gannon.
