CLARION WRESTLERS VISIT #13 EDINBORO SATURDAY The Clarion wrestling team hits the road on Saturday, December 13 to battle #13 rated Edinboro in an EWL and NCAA Division I wrestling match at McComb Fieldhouse. Match time is set for 7pm.
The Clarion – Edinboro match will be available on C-93 (WCCR-FM – 92.7) for listeners in Clarion and on the internet on Redzonemdia.com with
Rich Herman calling the action.

Keith Ferraro, enters the match with an 0-7 dual meet record against a very tough schedule. The Golden Eagles opened the 2014-15 wrestling season hosting the Clarion Open on November 2 with three Clarion wrestlers in Saturday's lineup earning places including
Daniel Sutherland (3
rd at 174),
Michael Pavasko (4
th at 174) and
Evan DeLong (4
th at 157). On November 15 Clarion participated in the Eastern Michigan duals and lost four dual matches to Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (19-12), #17 Northwestern (39-6). Central Michigan (34-6) and Northern Illinois (31-7). Then on November 22, Clarion hosted four-time and defending NCAA D-I National Champion Penn State at Tippin Gym and lost a 44-0 decision in front of 2,875 fans. On November 30 the Golden Eagles traveled to Rider and lost a 38-3 decision to the Broncs and a 25-13 loss to Penn.
Last Saturday clarion participated in the 72
nd PSAC Wrestling Championships and finished in 5
th place.

Edinboro, under 18
th year veteran head coach Tim Flynn, comes into the dual meet ranked #13 in the latest USA Today/NWCA Coaches Poll and a dual meet record of 3-1. The Scots have defeated Central Michigan (30-3), Michigan (23-16) and Northern Illinois (40-3). Their only loss came against Pitt (25-13).
Edinboro, last Saturday, won the 72nd PSAC Championships going away winning 9 of 10 individual weight classes.

CLARION NOTES: Clarion leads the series history against Edinboro by a margin of 32-24 – but Edinboro leads the EWL series 19-6… Edinboro won last year 40-3, in December of 2012 by a 28-12 and in 2011 37-12 … Clarion last won 25-21 in December of 2010 … at Fort LeBoeuf High School.
