MBB GAME CENTER: BLOOMSBURG; EAST STROUDSBURG VISIT TIPPIN TUE & WED

CLARION, Pa. - After taking last week off for finals, the Clarion University men's basketball team has a busy week in front of it this week with three games including a pair of midweek PSAC Crossover home games.

The Golden Eagles (3-3 overall, 1-2 PSAC West), who beat California (Pa.) 80-73 last time out Dec. 6, will host a pair of PSAC East powers at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Tippin Gym.

On Tuesday, Bloomsburg (6-1, 2-1) comes to town, while on Wednesday defending PSAC champion East Stroudsburg (5-2, 4-0 going into Tuesday's game at Gannon) visits.

Clarion's first six games this year have been action packed with the Golden Eagles defense forcing 23.7 turnovers per game while recording a PSAC-leading 14.0 steals per game. That has helped Clarion average 74.2 points per contest.

Four Golden Eagles average in double digits led by junior forward Darius Stevens (14.7 ppg, 7.7 rpg). Junior forward Kyheim Hall adds 11.8 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest, while freshman guard Brandon Williams chips in 11.2 points per game. Sophomore guard BJ Andrews adds 10.7 points per contest and has a team-leading 14 steals.

Bloomsburg possesses the second-highest scoring offensive in the PSAC at 83.4 points per game, although the Huskies do allow 77.9 points per contest.

Two Bloom players average at least 15 points per game led by Jon Riles' 15.8. Charles Haigler chips in 15.7 ppg and 5.6 rpg, while Alssene Saintilus contributes 11.7 ppg and a team-leading 8.4 rpg. Also reaching double figures for the Huskies is Christian Mortellitte (10.4 ppg). A new addition to the Bloom lineup has been Wes Lyons who has contributed 10.5 ppg and 6.0 rpg in two games since his season debut Dec. 4.

East Stroudsburg has won two PSAC titles since 2012 and plays a similar style to Clarion. The Warriors opponents average 18.4 turnovers per game with ESU averaging 10.7 steals per contest.

Whis Grant paced ESU averaging 13.3 points per game, one of four Warriors in double digits. Jamal Nwaniemeka chips in 12.4 ppg, Rasheed Moore adds 11.0 ppg and a team-leading 7.4 rpg and Matt Tobin scored 10.0 ppg and has a team-best 18 steals.

After Wednesday, Clarion has one more game prior to New Year's Day. The Golden Eagles will travel to West Chester for a 3 p.m. game Saturday.
