Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CLARION, Pa. – Taylor Powell's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth of Game Two scored Lauren Henderson to give Clarion a rain-shortened 7-6 come-from-behind win over visiting Seton Hill in PSAC West action Friday afternoon.

On Senior Day for Clarion, Seton Hill (20-16 overall, 10-14 PSAC West) actually scored a run in the top of the sixth to tie the game at seven before poor field conditions caused by a steady rain forced the umpires to call the game. By rule, the score reverts back to the last completed inning giving Clarion (4-27, 3-21) the victory.

The win helped Clarion, who honored Kirsten Wilcox and Elizabeth Shiring before the first game, get a split of the twinbill, as Seton Hill won Game One 8-3.

The visiting Griffins looked like they were in good shape to sweep the doubleheader when they took a 6-1 into the bottom of the fourth.

But Clarion rallied with five runs in the fourth inning with Kirsten Wilcox's one-out based loaded single to the left-center field fence scoring Emily Barber and Shiring to tie the game at six.

The rally started with a lead-off single to center by Christina Tressler who then advanced to second on a passed ball and to third on a wild pitch before scoring on a Powell single to center on 3-1 pitch. Powell then moved to second on a Megan Anderson single to center, and a wild pitch moved the runners up one base each.

Shiring then made it 6-3 with a single to center that scored Powell and moved Anderson to third. Shiring stole second, and Casey Wilcox was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Kayla Henderson then hit a grounder to third that she beat the rap on at first for a run-scoring infield single to make it 6-4 before Kirstin Wilcox, an out later, tied the game.

On the Kirstin Wilcox single, Kayla Henderson ended up being thrown out between second and third when Barber missed third base and retreated to retag the base confusing Henderson, who was headed to third.

Then in the fifth, Tressler got the game-winning rally started with a leadoff double to right-center field, and Lauren Henderson pinch ran moving to third on a wild pitch before scoring on the Powell sacrifice fly.

With the rain coming down, the umpires decided to try to continue play despite the sloppy field, and Seton Hill got a run home in the top of the sixth before field conditions become unplayable causing the game to be called and the score to revert back to the fifth inning.

Lyndsey Jones got the win for the Golden Eagles going five innings and allowing six runs, five earned, on 10 hits and two walks while striking out two.

Tressler and Kirstin Wilcox were both 2-for-3 in the game with a run scored. Wilcox had two RBIs and Tressler one. Powell was 1-forf-1 with two RBIs and also drew a walk.

Seton Hill had grabbed the 6-1 lead thanks to three runs in the first, one in gthe second and two in the fourth.

Clarion got its first run in the bottom of the first when a Tressler groundout scored Kirsten Wilcox.

In the first game, Seton Hill scored three in the first, three in the third, one in the fourth and once in the sixth while Clarion got a solo home run from Tressler in the first hitting – it was to right field on a 3-2 pitch. The Golden Eagles also scored a run in the fourth when Casey Wilcox singled home Powell, and Clarion's final run came on a RBI groundout by Kirsten Wilcox in the seventh to score Shawnna Crago, who had a one-out a triple.

Crago took the loss going seven innings and allowing just six hits but walking seven in allowing eight runs, seven earned. She struck out seven as well.

Clarion had six hits in the game led by Tressler going 1-for-3 with the home run.

The Golden Eagles return action Saturday when they travel to Gannon for a PSAC West doubleheader that should finish their season.
