Clarion, Pa – The Golden Eagles lost their first game of the season in three sets this afternoon in Tippin Gymnasium against California (Pa.).The scores of the sets were 25-21, 25-16, and 25-21 respectively.
"This game was definitely a wakeup call, we came out flat, and had too many hitting errors." Said head coach
Jennifer Mills after the game. Mills also added, "It was nice to see
Victoria Evans come off the bench and play well."
The Golden Eagles were led by
Laura Subject who had 33 set assists, five digs, and two kills. Also
Taylor Braunagel led the team with 12 kills while,
Mackenzie Biggs added 8 kills and one block, and Evans chipped in with 4 kills.
Catherine Ferragonio led the Golden Eagles with 15 digs, while
Morgan Seybold added nine digs, and
Carlie Bieranowski contributed with eight digs.
California was led by Laurel Miller who had 10 kills and seven digs, Megan Litoborski who had 35 set assists and four digs, and Samantha Rudy who contributed with 10 digs and one set assist.
The Golden Eagles return to action Tuesday night at 7:00 against IUP.
