WBB GAME CENTER: GOLDEN EAGLES AT CHEYNEY & MILLERSVILLE OVER WEEKEND

CLARION, Pa. - The Clarion University women's basketball team will look to get back on track over the weekend when it travels to Cheyney and Millersville.

The Golden Eagles (1-10 overall, 0-6 PSAC West), who have dropped seven straight following a New Year's Eve loss at Lake Erie College, will face a Cheyney team that is also 1-10 on the season and 1-5 in the PSAC East and a Millersville squad that is 8-4 on the year and 5-2 in the PSAC East going into its game Saturday with Gannon.

Clarion, which lost senior forward Hannah Heeter to a season-ending injury just before the holiday break, has seen sophomore Delrika Jones-Carey step up her game. Jones-Carey, who is averaging 9.3 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per contest is coming off her first career double-double when she had 21 points and 10 rebounds at Lake Erie.

The Golden Eagles are led by junior guard Tania Holmes, who averages a team-best 15.5 points per game, the eighth-best mark in the PSAC. Jasmine Boyd (5.8 ppg) and Maria Taylor (5.7 ppg) also contribute on offense.

Kya Hines-Allen leads Cheyney, who has dropped eight straight, with 13.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per contest. Kia Whitney-Duncan chips in with 8.5 points per game.

Leading Millersville is Carly Gallagher at 16.0 points per contest, the sixth-best mark in the PSAC, while Yasmin Cooper (8.8 ppg, 8.9 rpg) and Shelby Reimer (8.8 ppg) also play key roles.

After Sunday, Clarion returns home to face Shippensburg at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
