Kevin Genevro caught 6 passes for 158 yards and 1 td,
Matt Lehman grabbed 6 for 96 yards and 1 td and
QB Connor Simmons set a new single season td record (325 yards and 2 td's), but it wasn't enough as Kutztown scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to defeat the golden Eagles 45-17 on Saturday afternoon.
The 2015 season finale for both teams, played at Andre Reed Stadium, Clarion finishes its 2015 season with a 7-4 overall record, while Kutztown also finished the year at 7-4.
The first half was closely contested. Kutztown took its first possession and drove 75 yards in 9 plays to take a 7-0 lead when Anthony Kelly caught a 9-yard td pass from Chad Barton.

Kevin Genevro for a 48-yard td pass tying the score 7-7 with 19-seconds left in the first quarter.
Kutztown drove to the Eagle 13 on its next possession, but the drive stalled. Alec Rosenfeld booted a 30-yard field goal to give the Bears a 10-7 lead with 11:20 showing on the second quarter clock.
Clarion came right back and drove from its own 2 yard line to the Kutztown 10. Simmons hit
Matt Lehman for 18 yards, and also connected with Genevro on a 47-yard play to the KU 31. A key 8-yard pass to Lehman netted the eagles a first down at the Bear 16. The drive stalled and
Phil Esposito came on and booted a 32-yard field goal to tie the game 10-10 with 6:57 left before intermission.
Kutztown took the lead for good on an 8-play, 70-yard drive that was capped with a Barton 24-yard td pass to Kellen Williams. The PAT was good and KU led 17-10 with 3:44 remaining in the second.

Delrece Williams rushed for 33 yards, and Simmons hit
Kyle Evans for 16 to the KU 42. A 15-yard completion to
Matt Lehman had the Eagles at the Bears 27. Clarion called timeout with 4 seconds left and setup for a 44-yard field goal try from Esposito – but the boot was wide right and Kutztown led 17-10 at halftime.
After Kutztown scored on the opening drive of the second half to go ahead 24-10, the Eagles mounted their own drive that could have put them right back in the game. On a first and 5 at the KU 29,
Delrece Williams rushed for 8 yards, but KU linebacker Zack Delp forced a fumble and the Bears recovered at their own 23.
KU used that momentum to drive 77 yards and scored on a Terry Williams 7 yard run that put Kutztown ahead 31-10 with 4:22 left in the third quarter, putting the game out of reach.
With KU ahead 45-10, the Eagles posted their final score of the day. Simmons hit
Matt Lehman on a 34-yard td pass with 9:07 remaining to make the final 45-17.
Simmons completed 19 of 33 passes for 325 yards and 2 td's on the day. He finished the year with a new Clarion record 34 td passes, breaking the old record set by coach
Chris Weibel with 32 back in 1996. Simmons had already broken the single season passing yards record (2,880 by Weibel) and finished 2015 with 3,582 yards.
Matt Lehman Matt Lehman caught 6 passes for 98 yards and 1 td. He set a s=new single season record for td catches with 15. He finished the year with 67 catches for 979 yards. His 979 yards are third most in a season at Clarion.
Kevin Genevro led the way on Saturday with 6 catches for 158 yards and 1 td. He ended the season with 42 grabs for 886 yards and 10 td's. He averaged 21.1 yards per catch, 11
th best in clarion history. His 10 td's ranked tied for 6
th and his 886 yards were 8
th best in a single season.
Delrece Williams rushed 16 times for 78 yards and finished the year with 978 yards and 6 rushing td's, while also grabbing 31 passes for 465 yards and 4 td's. His 978 rushing yards were the 8
th best in a single season in Clarion history.
Clarion's defense was led by
Trevon Gaines,
Cory McNamara and
Myles Edmonds who had 9 tackles each.
Brandon Short had 8 stops and 1 sack.
The Kutztown offense tallied 561 yards including 245 rushing and 316 passing. QB Chad Barton completed 33 of 50 passes for 316 yards and 2 td's, plus ran for 59 yards.
Kodi Reed caught 11 passes for 80 yards and Craig Reynolds had 10 grabs 60 yards.
Running back Darrell Scott had 14 carries for 80 yards and 2 scores.
The Golden Eagles finished their first season under new head coach
Chris Weibel with a 7-4 record. Picked to finish last in the West in the pre-season, Weibel led the Eagles to a 7-0 start and a #25 ranking in the AFCA Poll after week seven. Although losing the last four games of the season, the Eagles final 4 opponents had a combined record of 35-10.
