CLARION, Pa. – The Clarion University women's basketball team welcomes Gannon, coached by 1996 Clarion graduate Jim Brunelli and 2004 Clarion alum Mike Whitling, to Tippin Gym at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles, under first-year head coach
Jana Ashley, are 2-20 overall and 1-16 in the PSAC West, while the Lady Knights, under Brunelli, who is in his second season, are 15-6 overall and 14-4 in the PSAC West.
Both teams are coming off of loses over the weekend.
Clarion fell 76-53 at California (Pa.) Sunday despite a season-best 16 points from
Jasmine Boyd, while Gannon dropped a 74-53 decision at home to IUP with Morgan Neighbors leading the way for the Lady Knights with 10 points.
This is the second meeting this season between the teams. Gannon took home a 72-45 win in Erie Dec. 3 behind 12 points and eight rebounds from Nettie Blake and 10 points from McKenna Shives. Clarion got 12 points and five rebounds from
Hannah Heeter and 10 tallies, five boards and three steals from
Tania Holmes.
Holmes leads the Golden Eagles and ranks sixth in the PSAC in scoring at 15.6 points per game while reaching double figures in each of her last eight games. She is averaging 19.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.5 steals per game in those eight contests.
Also for Clarion,
Delrika Jones-Carey adds 11.4 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per contest ranking 10
th in the conference in rebounding, while Boyd adds 5.9 points per game.
Blake paces Gannon averaging a season double-double of 13.8 points and 11.4 rebounds per game. Mollie Sebald chips in 11.3 points per game, Brittany Batts 8.2 and Neighbors 7.9.
After Wednesday, Clarion is on the road at Mercyhurst at 1 p.m. Saturday.
