STEVENS 31 NOT ENOUGH AS MEN'S BASKETBALL DROPS SEASON FINALE AT IUP

INDIANA, Pa. – Darius Stevens scored 31 points, his second 30-point game of the season, but the Clarion University men's basketball team couldn't keep up with the red-hot shooting IUP Crimson Hawks falling 101-66 in Indiana Wednesday night.

Stevens, who netted a career-best 32 points last week vs. Penn St.-DuBois, was 12 of 21 from the floor and 6 of 9 from the free-throw line Wednesday at No. 24 IUP.

But IUP (22-5 overall, 16-5 PSAC West) shot a blistering 55.4 percent from the field including 20 of 32 in the first half. That first-half shooting combined with Clarion going just 7 of 25 from the field in the opening 20 minutes allowed the Crimson Hawks to lead 56-24 at the break.

Devante Chance tied Stevens for game-high honors netting 31 of his own for IUP, while Cornell Yarde II had 14, Brandon Norfleet 13 and Jeremy Jeffers 12.

BJ Andrews added 10 points for the Golden Eagles, while Kyheim Hall had seven and Matt D'Amico and Rob Agurs six each.

Despite the loss, Clarion doubled its win total from last year from five to 10 in the first season under head coach Marcess Williams
