CLARION, Pa. - A second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay and a first place finish the 200 yard freestyle relay helped lift the Clarion men's swimming and diving team to a 146-72 victory over Edinboro Saturday afternoon at Tippin Natatorium. The Eagles (2-0, 1-0 PSAC) return to action Friday, October 28th when they host the CU Diving Invite.
The team of Jospeh Folz, Robert Haku,
Taylor Wesselhoft, and
Nathan Porter just barely out-touched the Scots in the free relay, clocking in at 1:30.38 to take the final event of the day and seal the win for Clarion. The race was a thrilling neck-and-neck sprint down the final stretch, with anchor Porter's relay-best 22.29 split proving to be the difference. The sophomore managed to touch the wall a hair ahead of Edinboro's Daniel Peng to secure first place for the Golden Eagles.

Johsua Thurston,
Sam Kinney, and Haku also mananged take the top three spots in the 100 yard freestyle, touching out with final times of 49.23, 49.97, and 50.62, respectively. The Golden Eagles also swept the top three spots in the 500 yard freestyle, with Porter, Patrick Oliver, and
Thomas Toborowski all finishing ahead of Edinboro.
Porter added a first-place finishes in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle, while Spencer continued a dominant performance by taking first in the 200 yard indivudial medley and the 100 yard backstroke. Oliver and Toborowski also managed to snag second and third place finishes in the 500 yard free to add to what was already a pretty impressive showing by Clarion.
On the diving platform, the Golden Eagles were just as dominant, sweeping both the men's one meter and three meter diving competetions.
Cary Johns, Colin Vest, and
Michael Allison took care of bussiness in the one meter, while Johns, Allison, and Michael Schmerlezer closed things out in the three meter to make it a clean sweep, secuing all 32 possible points for Clarion.
