CLARION, Pa. - The Clarion University men's swimming and diving team edged out the Shippensburg Raiders 172-114 Friday night at Tippin Natatorium. The Golden Eagles move to 3-0 on the season including 2-0 in the PSAC.
Freshman
Nathan Porter finished with a pair of first-place finishes in both the 1000 and 500 yard freestyle events. The Shaler native also finished with a fourth-place mark in the 100-yard backstroke as well as third as a member of the 200 freestyle relay.
Also finishing with a big night was fellow freshman
Ian Lindsey. The Knoch alum swam to a trio of first-place finishes as a member the 200 medley relay, as well as wins in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke.

On the dives, the Golden Eagles managed a clean-sweep in both the one and three-meter events.
Cary Johns,
Michael Allison, and Michael Schmelzer finished 1-2-3 in each dive, with Johns scoring a 247.5 and 274.48, respectively.
The Golden Eagles return to action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Carnegie Mellon.
